I’ve tried a heck of a lot of skincare over the years, but its safe to say that Liz Earle is definitely my all-time favourite skincare brand. I’ve loved everything that I’ve invested in from her skincare range and the products have always worked miracles on my blemish-prone/borderline acne skin.
My favourite product from Liz Earle has always been her infamous ‘Hot Cloth Cleanser’. If you aren’t familiar with this cleanser, its a cream formula that you apply to your dry skin (no need to wet your face first) and wipe away the with a hot, damp cloth. Easy! What baffles me the most about the product is that it doubles up as a make-up remover too! It removes your make-up AND cleanses all in one swoop. Amazing, right? Its the perfect product for taking your make-up off when you’ve just got home from a long day at work (or a night out!) and really don’t feel like making that much effort. Liz has got you covered. And whats more, its all natural! My skin literally drinks this stuff up daily.
As fantastic as Liz Earle is, some people can’t always afford to spend £15+ on a cleanser. I get it, I feel ya’, I’m in the same boat. I’m a poor student with a minimal income, so I agree: spending £15+ on a cleanser, to us, classes as an investment piece. But don’t let this deter you from looking after your skin. Just because we can’t afford the top dollar skincare doesn’t mean that we can’t nourish our skin with the best ingredients. I’m here to let you know that you CAN look after your skin on a budget. I’ve found THE BEST Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser dupe to dupe them all.
Now, I have to give my beloved mum full credit for finding this dupe. She knows just how much I love my holy-grail Liz Earle cleanser, and she also knows how much of a strain repurchasing it on a regular basis is on my poor bank balance. She brought this home for me to try from no other than Aldi. Thats right; Aldi.
To offer a bit of insight into my skin’s history: I have always had incredibly sensitive skin. New skincare products frighten the life out of me. In most cases, there will be something inside the cleansers that doesn’t agree with my skin which is enough for me to breakout in painful, angry, red spots for the rest of the month. I’m not kidding, its super annoying. So of course, when she handed me the cleanser I was sceptical. I was sceptical about the fact that it was a dupe for one of my all-time, holy-grail cleansers. A dupe for one of the very few brands of skincare that DOESN’T break me out. How could this compare to the original in terms of quality and claims? I’ll be honest, I wasn’t buying it…
But I can assure you after more than a month of using it, I’ve definitely bought into it. In fact, I’ve literally bought into it by buying 3 more bottles of the stuff!
I was so shocked to discover how similar this dupe is to Liz Earle’s Original Hot Cloth Cleaning formula. The smell, the texture, the finish, and even the look, are pretty much identical to the real thing. I have been using this product now for just over a month and hasn’t broken my sensitive skin out yet *touch wood*. I even took it away with me while I was travelling in Italy and almost forgot that it was a dupe! Amazing stuff, huh?
And whats more, its only £3.99! £3.99 for this badass Liz Earle cleanser dupe. I really can’t fault Aldi on this one; they’ve done themselves proud this time.
The only downside to the cleanser is that I’m not sure it will be sticking around. If your familiar with Aldi then you’ll know that they like to chop and change their stock around every week. My gut feeling tells me that this is a promotional item that won’t stick around for long (hence why I stocked up). If your a fan of Liz Earle’s Hot Cloth Cleanser and are on the hunt for a much cheaper and equally effective dupe, then I’d get yourself down to Aldi and stock up on it too. You won’t regret it at £3.99, your only regret will be if you miss out on it!
What is your holy grail cleanser? Have you ever fond a dupe for it? Let me know in the comments section below. Until then, have a lovely rest of your week.
With Love Always,
