Since entered spring, new and exciting trends have been blossoming all over the fashion world. Our clothing stores have flourished into a spring wonderland and I feel like I’m in a dream-like state with all of the lovely new clothing pieces blessing our shelves. Here are some of the trends that I’ve been loving:
Cast your minds back to your 8 year old self, shopping with your mum or dad in the supermarket for your next gingham summer dress for the new school year. That’s what pops into my mind when I see a lovely gingham piece standing proud in a store window – nostalgia, baby! Its a trend that I never thought that I’d be into, until there was so much gingham around that I had no choice but to give into the hype and try it out. And now the rest is history. My favourite gingham piece at the moment is my Topshop Gingham Floral Embroidered Blouse which you can see a picture of me wearing on my Instagram (asprigofholly_). There’s so many other brilliant gingham pieces around, I wish I could own them all *sigh*.
Who doesn’t love a bit of pink? I’ve been seeing a lot of pastel pink pieces floating around recently that I’ve fallen in love with. I’m all about the pastels in the spring (and all year round if i’m honest!) but this time around, I’m really digging the pastel pink. So much so, that I’ve even purchased a pair of stunning pale pink checked Vans. I found these bad boys at TKMAXX and they just had to come home with me – it was fate.
Plisse clothing was a trend that I never thought that I would ever be interested in – until I tried on a pair of the pants. No joke – they’re a game changer! Plisse pants are literally the comfiest pants that my legs have ever had the pleasure of being in – they’re flowy, floaty and fashionable (alliteration ftw!). I love to pair mine with a plain white shirt, a leather or denim jacket, and a pair of Adidas Gazelles. Your missing out if you’ve not tried on plisse pants – your legs will love you forever.
I’ve been so in love with all of the floral embroidered pieces that I’ve seen on the high street. I feel like I’m in an alternate universe walking into clothing stores like Urban Outfitters and Topshop, who specialise in grungey/urbanised clothing, and seeing beautifully embroidered floral designs on clothing, pants, handbags, and even shoe! It’s the trend of my dreams! I just had to get this gingham floral embroidered shirt from Topshop when I saw it . I mean, c’mon, its two of my favourite spring trends all rolled into one – gingham AND embroidered flowers? Yes please!
