Whilst Black Friday was upon us, I decided to treat myself to a few beauty and fashion bits that I’d had my eyes on for a while.
As of late, I’ve well and truly fallen off the skincare bandwagon. After a long day of university or work, the last thing on my mind is completing a multiple step skincare regime! However, in an attempt to motivate myself to get back into the habit of looking after my skin, during black Friday, I picked up a few items from Cult Beauty that had been on my wishlist for a while.
I picked up two products from January Labs which were the Restorative Tonic Mist and the Moisture Balancing Lotion. What initially drew me to the brand was the ingredients list. Both products have amazing ingredients in them that work miracles on blemish-prone skin (which is the skin type that I have). So far, I’m really enjoying them so hopefully you may see them in my December Favourites.
I’m so late to ‘The Ordinary’ party that it’s beyond a joke now! Bloggers have been raving about The Ordinary for the entirety of 2017 and it’s taken me until the end of the year to finally get the memo and try them out. To ease myself in, I picked up one of each of their foundations; the serum foundation and the coverage foundation. The serum foundation is a lighter, watery consistency whereas the coverage foundation is a lot thicker and creamier. I’m still in shock over how cheap the foundations are (£5.90!).
Personally, I’ve been wearing the serum one a lot more because of how easy it is to apply and how natural it looks on the skin. It’s as if you’re practically wearing nothing and just jumped out of bed with flawless skin! For me, the coverage foundation is a little too thick for daily use so I’m looking forward to wearing it for a Christmas party or event in the near future.
I picked up a few new pieces for my wardrobe from ASOS whilst they had their 20% off sale. I’d been lusting over these Black Loafers for the longest time but never felt brave enough to pair them with any of my outfits. But this month, I plucked up the courage and went for it. Thankfully, they fit perfectly and go nicely with pretty much all of my outfits. Success! I can’t wait to take them for a spin.
Another impulse buy was this Pink Beret. I wasn’t 100% convinced whether berets would suit me at all or whether it would look like a ginormous furry pancake on my head. This one reminded me of one that I’d seen Kate La Vie styling on her Instagram. I loved the colour and it really suited her so I opted for this one on a whim. Thankfully, I didn’t look like I had a pancake on my head! Despite their appearance, berets are surprisingly snug and easy to wear. If it goes well I may have to invest in some other colours.
It’s been painfully cold here in the UK, so some new knitwear was a must. Whilst H&M had their 20% off sale, I panic-bought tons of oversized knitted jumpers in the hopes of surviving the winter! My favourite of the bunch is this woolly, oversized grey jumper. It’s so soft and fluffy and it’s been a real struggle having to take it off. It’s that snug that I’ve had to restrain from wearing it over the top of my PJ’s in bed! But in the day time I’ve been loving styling it with cuttlotts, converse, and an oversized scarf for that scandi-esque vibe.
That’s all that I picked up over the Black Friday period. Did you buy yourself anything nice?
